Meet the Founder

In the rural Ethiopian countryside and small towns, the traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony has long existed. The ceremony's host family arranges a green area with green grass cuttings for the occasion. The lady who makes and serves the coffee is dressed in traditional Ethiopian clothes (ሐበሻ ቀሚስ), and the colorful coffee cups (ስኒ) are all put on the "Reke'bot" (ረከቦት), a cultural coffee hosting board, along with the traditional artisanal produced coffee pot locally known as "Jebena" (ጀበና). Guests congregate around the wormth of the pit while being wasped in the delightful aroma of the roasted coffee, which is traditionally made on a charcoal burner. My basic motive when we started Kasma was to provide Ethiopian coffee and its distinct characteristics a global platform and to introduce the unique taste of Ethiopian coffee. Coffee culture is a social gathering that takes place across the country, with everyone participating in the process of preparing coffee and living it. As a result, it is a highly valued cultural event for maintaining and deepening social bonds. I believe that Ethiopia's success, as well as the success of every leader attempting to run a business, is fueled by this communal spirit. I'm hoping Kasma will spread the amazing flavor we've had so far throughout Ethiopia.
